Delete your account
Settings → Data → Danger zone. Four destructions, lightest first, and none of them acts on a single click. Each card states what it takes, what it leaves, and what it will ask you for before it runs.
The two light ones put a counter back to zero: Reset achievements and Reset the course. Neither asks for a password, and neither touches a figure.
Erase the data, keep the account
Section titled “Erase the data, keep the account”Erase my financial data removes accounts, holdings, balances, operations, lots, categories, rules, snapshots, price history, your encrypted provider keys and your investor questionnaire. It keeps the account itself: your email, your password, 2FA, your sessions, your API keys, your preferences and your achievements. You stay signed in.
The price history goes with the securities, which is years of quotes to download again. The card says so, and offers the backup inside its own confirmation.
Delete the account
Section titled “Delete the account”Delete my account takes everything above and the account with it. Nothing is left, and you are signed out on the spot.
-
Press Download my data (backup) if you want one. It is offered inside the confirmation, which is where it is actually wanted.
-
Enter your password, then type your username exactly as it is spelled.
-
If the account carries 2FA, enter a one-time code, or a recovery code. The password is checked first, so a wrong one never spends a recovery code.
Deletion cascades through every table that belonged to you. There is no grace period and no restore from the server side; the backup you took in step 1 is the only copy.
The refusal you may meet
Section titled “The refusal you may meet”The refusal is read before you type anything, not after. It applies only when both are true: you are the last account with the administrator role, and at least one other real person holds an account here. The demonstration account does not count as one of them.
When yours is the only real account on the instance, deletion goes through and the card warns you that it leaves the instance empty. That is a warning and not a refusal, because the only person it costs anything is the one deciding.
