Holdings

A line is one security or one coin held inside an account: an ETF, a fund, a share, a token. Four account types hold lines (PEA, securities account, life insurance and crypto wallet), and their value is the sum of their lines rather than a balance you typed.

Your lines (/lignes), on the tab bar of the wealth screen, lists every line across every account, under three figures: Unrealized gain, Realized gain and Total gain. The realized figure comes from dated sells only; with no dated lot on file it says so rather than showing zero.

The Lines tab of one account lists that account’s own, with the account’s breakdown and its ongoing charges above the table.

Clicking a line opens a panel with two readings and nothing to type: what the line has been worth over time, with its orders marked on the curve, and what it is made of in sectors and top holdings. Both are answers no other screen gives.

A PEA, a securities account and a crypto wallet carry a Cash pocket beside their securities. It appears in the lines table as a row of its own, with no gain: it is money, not a holding that grew.

An account's holdings table: a header row, a Total row, a fund line with its ticker, its share, its value and its gain, and under it a Cash row that carries no gain at all.

State a cash balance records it, and each figure is dated: the pencil corrects one, the bin removes it. An empty pocket says so: this envelope’s cash account is empty.

A life insurance contract has no cash pocket. It carries a hand-stated balance instead, added to its lines, and the account says so under the table.

Badlen prices lines from outside sources, and says when it could not. Under a total you may read that a line has no known price and is left out, or that the oldest price used is from such a day. Two controls answer:

  • Refresh this price, on the line itself, next to the date that says the price is old. It is rate-limited: refreshing twice in a row answers Just refreshed: try again in n seconds. A quote that comes back in another currency is stored but not converted, and no total reads it.
  • Rebuild the missing history, where history points were recorded while a line had no price. Those points are drawn dashed and hollow, and they understate the total.

Correct on a row opens what was declared by hand: quantity, amount invested, fees paid, ongoing charges, and the day the line entered your wealth. An empty field means unknown, not zero.

A line that is worth nothing, a delisted share, a wound-up fund or a dead token, is declared so here: it values at zero and the loss keeps counting.
